Behind the Scenes

Building the Scene: Studio and Lighting Setup

The success of this shoot hinged on finding the right location. Partnering with a local studio, we built a controlled environment that allowed us to use gelled lights and booms to replicate the screen test’s iconic visuals. This setup showcases the collaborative effort between myself as Creative Director and our videographer, ensuring the lighting and angles told a compelling visual story.

Capturing the Perfect Silhouette

To replicate the dramatic silhouette and lighting effects of the movie’s inspiration, we carefully positioned gelled lights on booms to achieve the desired red glow. Timing the light movements manually presented a challenge, but it was essential for capturing the striking flashes across the Gotham Roadster. The monitor here shows our progress in creating this cinematic effect.

Crafting Iconic Shots with Precision

Planning this shoot required attention to every detail, including capturing the car’s iconic interior in a way that aligned with the bold, red-tinged visuals of the campaign. Leveraging gelled lights and dynamic angles, we aimed to create an atmosphere inspired by the movie’s screen test video. This shot highlights the hands-on approach of our videographer using the Blackmagic Pocketcam 6K to bring the vision to life.

Redefining the Rear View

One of the standout moments of the shoot was capturing the rear view of the Gotham Roadster under the dramatic red lighting. The subtle interplay of shadows and highlights emphasized the car’s design while connecting it to the campaign’s inspiration. The attention to detail in timing the lights and framing the shot was key to bringing the vision to life.
